Wedding Shower Invitations

We never know what twists and turns are going to occur in our lives. I met my best friend when were freshmen in high school. We went through the traumas and dramas of high school. We roomed together through college and were the maid of honor in each other’s weddings. Through the years we have watched each other’s children grow up and I held her hand while her husband lost his battle with cancer.
After several years of being a widow she has found a new partner. He has never been married before and is excited about becoming part of her family. They have talked about having a small private ceremony with only a few guests. I decided I wanted to give a bridal shower for my friend. I thought it would be fun to get a group of our old friends together. I did not like any of the traditional wedding shower invitations because they were geared more towards younger couples. A friend of mine is a graphic artist and I asked her if she could come up with wedding shower invitations that would be more fitting for my friend’s situation. She asked me a few questions about my friend and said that she would try a few things. We made arrangements to meet for coffee a few days later so I could see what she had come up with. In the mean time my girlfriend that was getting married showed me the rings that they had designed to exchange during their vows. They were beautiful. They had a great unique design. I took a picture of them with my camera phone to show to my artist friend.

Whoever eats anything at a wedding luncheon? They make the food out of papier mâché. My salad had been used four or five times this week.

When I showed the artist the picture she thought it would be great to duplicate the design onto card stock for the wedding shower invitations. I told her that I needed seven of the wedding shower invitations. She thought with my help she could duplicate the gold rings onto black paper. We would then use a gold liner for the inside with the details about the date time and location of the shower.
The wedding shower invitations turned out beautifully. I saved one for my friend so that she would have it as a remembrance. It is so neat to see her happy again and looking forward to a new chapter in her life. She had a strong and wonderful first marriage and I am sure she will be able to crate a new life with her new partner. Her children are happy for her and are accepting of the new love in her life, which is very comforting to her.
