Unique Wedding Invitations

Weddings are supposed to be once in a lifetime events. Though some go on to marry more than once, they always assume their first wedding will be the only one they have. This means they want to make it extra special, and they go out of their way to make that happen. Along with choosing colors, themes, dresses, and activities, an engaged couple has to think about invitations. There are many great choices out there, but it is hard to find unique wedding invitations if you don’t know where to look.

I remember my engagement fondly, and I too was hoping I could find unique wedding invitations. I got catalogs from many different places, and I noticed that many of them were repeats. It was making it hard for me to find what I wanted. There were a few that were okay, great even, but I was looking for something a little different. In order to get truly unique wedding invitations, I had to make them on my own. I know this worked out well for us, but I also know that this will not work for everyone.

 Quote of the Day
Well, the wedding is over, the good folks are joined for better for worse—a shocking clause that!—’tis preparing one to lead a long journey, and to know the path is not altogether strewed with roses.
—Frances Burney (1752–1840)

If you don’t think you have the time and the skill to make your own, you can still find some unique wedding invitations that you will love. They will not be totally unique, but they may be unique to those you are inviting to your wedding. What you want to do is to find as many smaller companies that make invitations as you can find, and ask them for a catalog. Smaller companies tend to have less common designs, and they usually have really great service on top of that. You may want to order as many as fifteen to twenty different catalogs while you are doing this.

Once you have all of your catalogs, you can start searching for your unique wedding invitations. With that many from which to choose, you are bound to find something that you have never seen before and that speaks to you as a reflection of who you and your intended are as a couple. You can even look online at many different places, and see what they have to offer. You may find your unique wedding invitations that way as well. Online companies often have paper catalogs, but some of the newer ones do not. Look for ones that advertise that they have their own special collection that you can not get anywhere else.

Foster Parent
By Juan Jensen
