When planning any wedding, you have all the usual departments that need to be addressed, from the venue right on down to the license. All the in betweens are the things that seem to end up costing the most when tallied up. Here we are going to talk about the options of flowers and how to save some money. Everyone loves flowers and wedding flowers just seem to carry the eyes directly to them, as they are usually very well organized and beautiful. It is possible to get great flowers for your wedding while saving a lot of money. Here are some ways to accomplish this feat.

The least appealing way to save money on flowers is the cheapest-having no flowers at all. This is sometimes the case as many people work on a very strict and tight budget. Most of the time however, people will find ways to incorporate flowers into the budget and wedding itself. A new trend setting these days seems to be forgoing the traditional bouquet, for a single yet elegant flower, such as a form of lily or blossom. You could opt for the florist to design something with what ever is in season and the cheapest. You could consider using silk flowers, and will never have to worry about them dying, at the reception you could give them away to wedding party members as gifts if you like. The idea of a sole flower carries a very warm and romantic charm; the type of flower you carry can definitely heighten this. Although not cheap by any means, the calla lily is an extremely elegant flower and to hold merely one of these little gems rather than an entire bouquet of them can be the difference of a hundred dollars or so. Apposed to say ten dollars and all the while have that special appeal of less is more.

 Bit of History
Well, the wedding is over, the good folks are joined for better for worse—a shocking clause that!—’tis preparing one to lead a long journey, and to know the path is not altogether strewed with roses.
—Frances Burney (1752–1840)

You could have a bouquet if you are not willing to give up your own simple pleasures and go with a single flower of this kind to the bridesmaids. Once the reception is under way, they could place their single flower in a bud vase on the guest tables to be used as inexpensive centerpieces, as well. If you decide to go the silk flower route, this can be very beneficial as there is no set time to by them. These flowers can be bought well in advance to the big day and then kept in plastic containers or bags as to keep the dust off them. The idea of allowing the florist to design around what is in season, and in turn be the cheapest could wind up being a disaster for you emotions if you are not happy with the outcome, seldom do you find what you are really looking for when on a tight budget as it is, tossing the idea of cheap flowers at someone else's control will be a possible prelude to heart break. If you have your heart set on a particular flower, then this option would most likely not be for you.

This may be considered a tacky method of flowering you wedding, yet when you think about it, many can save a bundle of cash. Try the supermarket--they buy flowers in bulk and do not require you to leave a deposit for them. You could indeed save a large chunk of change doing it this way, and if the flowers are nice and healthy, who really need to know where they were purchased? More importantly, do you believe they will really care, as long as you are happy and saved a lot of money? That is what really counts in the end. When doing the centerpieces for the guest tables, you could consider trying houseplants. They are lovely all year and the cost does not really fluctuate often. During the reception these lovely plants could be raffled off at each of the guest tables, one lucky winner. With so many options out there for the flower arrangements you will easily be rewarded for some searching and innovation on the bouquet, corsage and the guest table arrangements. This money saved could go towards other things needed for the wedding and in urn still have a lovely day.
