For some reason, it is traditional to buy gifts for the best man and groomsmen. This is a kind of thank you. You are showing your appreciation to your wedding party for showing up and being dressed appropriately at the wedding. Not to mention any rehearsal dinners, fittings, and throwing the bachelor party. It is a token that is personalized with engraving for most men, or something just really awesome and noteworthy. You always want to make sure that when picking something out, that it is useful and something that your men will enjoy. What you buy will depend on your budget and also if each gift is personalized or you are going with a one style fits all kind of theme.
If you are on a budget, have many groomsmen, or prefer a one type of gift for all, here are some great choices to choose from. Remember to pick out quality items that look nice and are well made. Your best man's gift should be of a different style than the groomsmen's gift, preferably of higher quality as well.
?Beer steins are great gifts and even if the man you are buying for doesn't have a bar, he will enjoy it. Many local pubs will let you bring in your own mug and have mug clubs. To personalize the gift, make sure your men's names are engraved on the mugs. For the best man, get him a different stein with his name on it.
?Regular coffee mugs are also a great idea and if they have a metal plate in the center, can also be engraved for personalization. All the mugs should be alike except for the best man's. So make sure that wherever you got them, they have at least two different styles.
?Pilsners look great and are very easy to personalize. They can be etched right at the place of purchase in most cases. Make sure that there is a variety of styles to chose from so you can pick your two favorites.
?Shot glasses are classic and even if one has no bar, it really doesn't matter. They are an easy item to find and have personalized. Some will be all glass and need etching and the others will have a metal plate in the center. Most places have a huge selection so finding two great styles will be relatively easy.
?Flasks are among the most popular idea and the easiest to find. They are really neat to receive as a present because most people do not have one. They can be engraved and there are usually plenty of styles, colors, and sizes to choose from.
?Cuff links are another popular gift. It doesn't matter if they are gold or silver and they can also be engraved. Most groomsmen will be asked wear them at the wedding, so go with the metal that you most like.

?Money clips and key rings are an inexpensive and practical as well. The can be engraved or if you choose a leather key ring, monogrammed. Many couples go with this theme and just get a slightly different one for the best man.
?Pocket watches are another practical and stylish gift. They are nice to look at and carry around. Engraving can be done on the front, back and/or inside the cover to make really special. Again, make sure there is more than one style in the same metal to be able to upgrade the best man's.
If you have a little more money to spend, or have a smaller wedding party then you might want to go with some more personal and individual type gifts. These are still in the groomsmen tradition of items to buy. You can get each person something that reflects his own personality and likes.
?Personalized sports locker room photos are great ideas. They can autographed and can be from what type of sport your man likes best, NHL, NFL, NBA, PGA or MLB teams are available at reasonable costs and can be personalized.
?Personalized Tavern/Pub signs are great gifts for the lucky guy who gets one. Make sure that it is something he will like and can use.
?Personalized golf gifts are great like tees, balls, and driver covers or caps. These can names monogrammed into them for individuality.
?Six piece crystal martini set is always nice for that man who has a bar or is starting one. The set holder can be engraved as well. In fact any type of bar accessories will be a wonderful idea as well as a bottle of fine liquor to go with it.
