The iPod is the big thing among teens and young adults today. It appears to be that everyone has one, but that is not the case. For those who do, they are lucky. The iPod is not cheap by any means and costs a lot for anyone who purchases it. The younger you are, the less money you will most likely have to spend on this luxury item. Some of the young people around have parents who are willing to buy an iPod for their kids for a special occasion such as Christmas, a birthday, or graduation. The rest of the modern day families cannot afford the iPod at almost $400, no matter how well off they are. This can be hard for many young people who have no idea how much it costs to run a home and every day life. Most young people who live at home have no expenses and wonder why luxury items cannot be purchased at ease. There are some simple solutions to the iPod problem that all young people can utilize.

Save

No matter how much money you have or where it comes from, you can always save your money. How much you save and how long it takes to get the iPod you have been dreaming about will all depend on what you make and have to spend your money on. If you are under 18 and still live at home, then there is a good chance your income is very limited. If you have a job, it will more than likely be part time or you are relying on an allowance. In this case, getting your iPod may take a few months. If you are diligent and good with saving, then it can be accomplished. Figure out what you cannot live with out and how much that costs. Take that money out of what you get each week and put the rest in a bank account. Putting your money out of your house will keep you from dipping into it. You will also be collecting interest on what you put into your account at the same time.

If you are on your own or over 18 and have a job, then you might have to do a bit savings than someone supported by their parents. Make sure that all your bills are paid and see what you have left over after each payday. Deduct what you will need to eat and get to and from work out of that cash and then bank the rest in a savings account that is not attached to your checking. You will also not want an ATM card for that account. If you are truly trying to save for that iPod, then you want to leave that money untouched. It could take a few months or so, but it will be worth it in the end when you are walking out of the store with your prize.

 Bit of History
Much of what contrives to create critical moments in parenting stems from a fundamental misunderstanding as to what the child is capable of at any given age. If a parent misjudges a child’s limitations as well as his own abilities, the potential exists for unreasonable expectations, frustration, disappointment and an unrealistic belief that what the child really needs is to be punished.

Gift

Depending on your situation, you can always ask for the iPod for a major gift item. Many people get each other for one large gift for their graduation and/or Christmas, or birthday gift. Just expect that you might get a "no". Many people cannot afford such expensive gifts. You will want to tell the person who is buying it that this is the only gift that you want and that should help. You can always ask people to give you money for a present and then you can go and buy the iPod yourself. You may not get the whole amount, but chipping a bit beats buying it out right at full cost any day. The good thing about being older and wanting an iPod is that the older you are, the more you get money as a present. Most friends and family are more than willing to give cash to older people because it is much easier than trying to figure out what they need and want that is affordable. This will allow you to pool your cash together and buy exactly what you want, your iPod.

As you can see there are many ways to get your iPod with out having to solely rely on others. You just have to want it bad enough to be willing to pay for it or at least part of it yourself. There is nothing more satisfying than getting what you want and doing it on your own. Purchasing your iPod on your own will help you remember the value of it and take better care of it. You then be able to enjoy your iPod for many years to come.
