When it comes to classic toys, all you need to do is close your eyes and think about what you played with as a child. Even if you are not that old yet, chances are you played with a few toys that are now considered classic. Of course, what one person considers classic, another may laugh at. People over the age of 65 will likely think of things like blocks, puzzles, and balls with bats. Those born in the 80s might think of army guys, My Little Ponies, or the Rubik's Cube. No matter what comes to mind when you think of classic toys, here are five toys that any child today would love to play with.
Blocks
While blocks use to come in one basic size and shape, today there are many different variations. You can still find the amazing wooden square blocks if you are looking for that traditional toy from your childhood. They are perfect for making towers, castles, or other fun items. They last forever and can often be passed down from generation to generation. The greatest thing about these blocks however is the fact that they are so durable.
In addition to these wooden blocks you can also find blocks such as Lego's. Lego's were once found only in small sizes and were most suitable for older children. Today however, you can find different Lego's series for children of all ages. There are series with larger Lego's for younger children as well.
Puzzles
Puzzles are wonderful learning tools as well as enjoyable toys. If you need a gift for a child you don't know well, a puzzle is a great way to go. Their parents will be ecstatic that they will be learning something from their gift as well. Puzzles are one of the earliest toys available. You can find them in different varieties. You can get easy wooden puzzles for young children. They sometimes even come with pegs so the younger child can easily pick up the pieces. You can get moderately challenging puzzles for older children as well, which typically come with up to one hundred pieces in them. Teens and even adults may enjoy more complex puzzles. You can find extremely challenging varieties that have thousands of pieces or even 3D puzzles for super-cool effects.

When the Barbie dolls came onto the toy scene, every girl in the world wanted one. The company marketed their product well and today you can find hundreds of different Barbie dolls that are themed in various things. You can also find Barbie's friends and family in dolls as well. Barbie dolls are perfect and timeless because they are small enough to carry anywhere, yet large enough to hold the interest of children. They are relatively inexpensive as well, which appeals to many parents. Although they were once reserved for girls alone, today you are seeing even boys stealing their sister's Barbie dolls to play Army with now and then.
Yo-Yo
The yo-yo is a toy that has been around for years. It is probably one of the simplest toys out there. However, within all of its simplicity lies an intriguing and entertaining product. There are many great things about the yo-yo. One of the best things is its low price. Anyone can afford a yo-yo, which makes the toy extremely popular. Another great thing about this classic toy is that it can create challenging fun for years. When you first get a yo-yo, you have to learn how to use it in basic ways. However, if you practice, after time you can find tricks to do with it. Children as well as adults will practice for hours to perfect their yo-yo tricks.
Balls & Bats
Little boys have always loved to play with balls and bats. Today however, little girls are enjoying these classic toys as well. Children love balls, in all shapes and sizes. They love throwing a football to their friends, shooting hoops with a basketball, and kicking a soccer ball. They love being on baseball teams and participating in sports that include balls and bats. These classic toys are not only enjoyable, but they also allow children to get exercise they need to stay healthy.
